Ernakulam, 18 August 2026: The Kerala Chapter of the Indian Institution of Plant Engineers (IIPE) conducted its 51st Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, 18 August 2026, at Bharath Tourist Home (BTH), Ernakulam.

The meeting was presided over by Sajan M, Chairman, IIPE Kerala Chapter. The AGM was attended by Corporate Members of the Kerala Chapter and provided an opportunity to review the activities, achievements and progress of the Chapter during the year 2025–2026.

Dr. V. Sreekumar, Vice Chairman, delivered the welcome address, followed by the Chairman's address by Sajan M. The meeting considered and confirmed the minutes of the 50th Annual General Body Meeting.

S. Sudarshan Kumar, Secretary, IIPE Kerala Chapter, presented the annual report highlighting the activities and initiatives undertaken by the Chapter during 2025–2026. The members also considered the audited accounts and balance sheet for the financial year 2025–2026.

The AGM also considered the appointment of auditors for the financial year 2026–2027 and conducted the election of members to the Executive Committee for the term 2026–2028 under the supervision of the Returning Officer. The election results were subsequently declared during the meeting.

The outgoing office bearers and senior members of the Kerala Chapter who were present on the dais included Sajan M, Chairman; Dr. V. Sreekumar, Vice Chairman; Joggy Jacob, Vice Chairman; S. Sudarshan Kumar, Secretary; Zachariah Mani and Vimal Kumar N, Joint Secretaries; Suresh P. S., Treasurer; and Dr. A. K. Balan, General Council Member.

Newly Elected Office Bearers

The AGM elected the following office bearers for the 2026–2028 term:

• Chairman: Sajan M
• Vice Chairmen: Dr. K. Jayachandran and Vimal Kumar N
• Secretary: Suresh P. S.
• Joint Secretaries: Vishnuraj T. P. and Ramesh Babu P. D.
• Treasurer: Ramesh P. S.
• General Council Member: Balachandran K. K.

The election marks the beginning of a new term for the Executive Committee, which will continue to guide the activities of the IIPE Kerala Chapter and strengthen its professional initiatives for plant engineers and allied professionals.

The meeting concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by the Joint Secretary, bringing the 51st Annual General Body Meeting to a close.

The IIPE Kerala Chapter continues to promote professional development, technical knowledge and knowledge sharing among plant engineering professionals through technical programmes, training activities, seminars, conferences and other professional initiatives.
